SSPP - Centered double decrease on Wrong Side

SSPP is a centered double decrease worked on the wrong side. It reduces three stitches to one, placing the center stitch on top.

Step-by-step Instructions

Step 1

Hold the yarn in front, insert the right-hand needle knitwise into the first stitch on the left-hand needle, then slip it onto the right-hand needle.

Step 2

Repeat the same step with the second stitch.

Step 3

Insert the left-hand needle into the front of the two slipped stitches on the right-hand needle from left to right, then slip all stitches onto the left-hand needle.

Step 4

Insert the right-hand needle from left to right into the two stitches through their back loops, then slip them to the right-hand needle.

Step 5

Purl one stitch.

Step 6

Insert the left-hand needle into the back of the two slipped stitches on the right-hand needle.

Step 7

Pass the second and third stitches over the first stitch off the right-hand needle.
