SS2K | Left-Leaning, Like SK2P but No Pass Over

SS2K (Slip 1, Slip 2, Knit 3 Together) is a left-leaning double decrease that produces a result similar to SK2P, with the leftmost stitch on top.

But unlike SK2P, which uses a “pass over” step, SS2K skips that part entirely. Follow the 6-step guide below to learn how SS2K is worked.

6 steps to work SS2K

Step-by-step Instructions

Step 1

Hold the yarn in front, insert the right-hand needle knitwise into the next stitch on the left-hand needle then slip it onto the right-hand needle.

Step 2

Insert the right-hand needle knitwise into the next two stitches on the left-hand needle then slip both stitches onto the right-hand needle at once.

Step 3

Insert the left-hand needle through the front of three slipped stitches on the right-hand needle from left to right.

Step 4

Wrap the yarn counter clockwise around the right-hand needle.

Step 5

Pull the new stitch through three stitches.

Step 6

Drop the three stitches off the left-hand needle.
