Step-by-step Instructions
How to work the 2/2 Right Purl Cross in 6 steps without a cable needle — each step clearly shown with photos, making the process easy to follow, even if you’re new to cables.
Step 1
Insert the right-hand needle purlwise into the front of the 3rd and 4th stitches on the left-hand needle.
Step 2
Drop the four stitches off the left-hand needle.
Step 3
Insert the left-hand needle into the two loose stitches from left to right to pick them up.
Step 4
Insert the left-hand needle into the two stitches on the right-hand needle from left to right, and slip them back onto the left-hand needle.
Step 5
With the yarn in back, insert the right-hand needle knitwise into the first stitch on the left-hand needle, wrap the yarn counterclockwise around the right-hand needle, and pull it through to create a new stitch. Slip the old stitch off the left-hand needle. Repeat the same process for the next stitch.
Step 6
With the yarn in front, insert the right-hand needle purlwise into the first stitch on the left-hand needle, wrap the yarn counterclockwise around the right-hand needle, and pull it through to create a new stitch. Slip the old stitch off the left-hand needle. Repeat the same process for the next stitch.
