How to Knit the 3/2 Right Purl Cross (3/2RPC)

The drop method offers a quick and clear way to cross three knit stitches behind two purl stitches to the right, without using a cable needle.

Step 1

Insert the right-hand needle purlwise into the front of the 3rd, 4th, and 5th stitches on the left-hand needle.

Step 2

Drop the five stitches off the left-hand needle.

Step 3

Insert the left-hand needle into the two loose stitches to pick them up.

Step 4

Insert the left-hand needle into the three stitches on the right-hand needle from left to right, and slip them back onto the left-hand needle.

Step 5

With the yarn in back. Insert the right-hand needle knitwise into the first stitch on the left-hand needle, wrap the yarn counterclockwise around the right-hand needle, and pull it through to create a new stitch. Slip the old stitch off the left-hand needle. Repeat the same process for the next two stitches to complete three knit stitches.
