Step-by-step Instructions
Step 1: Transfer 6 stitches
Insert the right-hand needle purlwise into the first stitch on the left-hand needle, then slip it off onto the right-hand needle. Repeat for all six stitches.
Step 2: Work the 4th, 5th, and 6th stitches on RH Needle
Insert the left-hand needle into the front of the fourth, fifth, and sixth stitches on the right-hand needle from left to right.
Step 3: Drop stitches
Drop the six stitches off the right-hand needle.
Step 4: Pick up stitches
Insert the right-hand needle purlwise back into the three loose stitches to pick them up.
Step 5: Slip stitches back
Insert the left-hand needle into the three stitches on the right-hand needle from left to right and slip them back onto the left-hand needle.
Step 6: Knit the stitches
With the yarn in back. Insert the right-hand needle knitwise into the first stitch on the left-hand needle, wrap the yarn counterclockwise around the right-hand needle, and pull it through to create a new stitch. Slip the old stitch off the left-hand needle. Work the next five stitches in the same way.
