Step 1:

Hold the yarn in back, insert the right-hand needle knitwise into the first stitch on the left-hand needle.

Step 2:

Wrap the yarn counterclockwise around the right-hand needle.

Step 3:

Pull the loop through the existing stitch.

Step 4:

Keep the existing stitch on the left-hand needle. Bring the yarn between the two needle tips to the front.
