Popular Basket Weave stitch patterns
Pattern 1
Cast on a multiple of 8 stitches plus 2.
Repeat a 6-row pattern:
Row 1 (RS): Knit 2, then repeat the sequence: Purl 6, knit 2 until the end of the row.
Row 2 (WS): Repeat the sequence: Purl 2, knit 6 until 2 stitches remain, then purl 2.
Row 3: Knit all stitches.
Row 4: Repeat the sequence: Knit 4, purl 2, knit 2 until 2 stitches remain, then knit 2.
Row 5: Purl 2, then repeat the sequence: Purl 2, knit 2, purl 4 until the end of the row.
Row 6: Purl all stitches.
Repeat from Row 1 to Row 6.
Pattern 2
Cast on a multiple of 20 stitches plus 5.
Repeat a 20-row pattern:
Row 1 (RS): Knit 5, then repeat the sequence: (Purl 1, knit 1, purl 1, knit 1, purl 1, knit 5) twice; work from * to the end of the row.
Row 2 (WS): Repeat the sequence: Purl 6, knit 1, purl 1, knit 1, purl 7, (knit 1, purl 1) twice until 5 stitches remain, then purl 5.
Row 3: Repeat Row 1.
Row 4: Repeat Row 2.
Row 5: Repeat Row 3.
Row 6: Repeat the sequence: Purl 5, knit 15 until 5 stitches remain, then purl 5.
Row 7: Knit 5, then repeat the sequence: Purl 15, knit 5 until the end of the row.
Row 8: Repeat Row 6.
Row 9: Repeat Row 7.
Row 10: Repeat Row 6.
Row 11: Repeat Row 1.
Row 12: Repeat Row 2.

Repeat an 8-row pattern:

Row 2 (WS): Knit 4, then repeat the sequence: Purl 4, knit 4 until the end of the row.
Rows 3 - 4: Repeat Rows 1 - 2.
Row 5: Repeat the sequence: Knit 4, purl 4 until 4 stitches remain, then knit 4.
Row 6: Purl 4, then repeat the sequence: Knit 4, purl 4 until the end of the row.
Rows 7 - 8: Repeat Rows 5 - 6.
Repeat from Row 1 to Row 8.
Pattern 4
Cast on a multiple of 6 stitches plus 3.
Repeat a 12-row pattern:
Row 1 (RS): Knit 3, then repeat the sequence: Purl 3, knit 3 until the end of the row.
Row 2 and all WS rows: Purl all stitches.
Row 3: Knit 3, then repeat the sequence: Purl 3, knit 3 until the end of the row.
Row 5: Knit 3, then repeat the sequence: Purl 3, knit 3 until the end of the row.
Row 7: Purl 3, then repeat the sequence: Knit 3, purl 3 until the end of the row.
Row 9: Purl 3, then repeat the sequence: Knit 3, purl 3 until the end of the row.
Row 11: Purl 3, then repeat the sequence: Knit 3, purl 3 until the end of the row.
