Beginner free knitting pattern, Basketweave Pattern. By alternating the knit and purl stitches, you create a woven effect that resembles a basketweave.

Basketweave pattern. Knit Purl Square No. 16. It is achieved by alternating knit and purl stitches across rows and columns.

Row 5 (Knit 2, Purl 4) ×7, Knit 2. 
Row 6 Purl. 
Row 7 Knit. 
Row 8 Purl 1, Knit 2, (Purl 2, Knit 4) ×6, Purl 2, Knit 2, Purl 1.
