Just knit and purl stitches, making them easy for beginners to knit.
Triangle stitch
Pattern: Multiple of 5 stitches.
Row 1 - Right side: Knit.
Row 2 - Wrong side: *Knit 1, purl 4; rep from * to end.
Row 3: *Knit 3, purl 2; rep from * to end.
Row 4: *Knit 3, purl 2; rep from * to end.
Row 5: *Knit 1, purl 4; rep from * to end.
Repeat Rows 1-6.
Pyramid Stitch
Pattern: Multiple of 6 stitches plus 1
Row 1 - RS: Knit 1, *knit 2, purl 1, knit 3; rep from * to end.
Row 2 - WS: *Purl 2, knit 3, purl 1; rep from * to last st, purl 1.
Row 3: Knit 1, *purl 5, knit 1; rep from * to end.
Row 4: *Knit 1, purl 5; rep from * to last st, knit 1.
Row 5: Purl 1, *purl 1, knit 3, purl 2; rep from * to end.
Row 6: *Knit 3, purl 1, knit 2; rep from * to last st, knit 1.
Repeat Rows 1-6.
Ladder-stitch
Pattern: Multiple of 6 stitches
Row 1 and all Right Side rows: Purl 1, then repeat the sequence: Knit 5, purl 1 until the end of the row.
Row 2- Wrong Side: Repeat the sequence: Knit 1, purl 5 until the last stitch, then knit 1.
Row 4: Repeat Row 2.
Row 6: Knit all stitches.
Repeat Rows 1-6.
Basket weave stitch
Pattern: Multiple of 8 stitches plus 2
Row 1 - Right Side: Knit 2, *purl 6, knit 2; rep from * to end.
Row 2 - Wrong Side: *Purl 2, knit 6; rep from * to last 2 sts, purl 2.
Row 3: Knit all stitches.
Row 4: *Knit 4, purl 2, knit 2; rep from * to last 2 sts, knit 2.
Row 5: Purl 2, *purl 2, knit 2, purl 4; rep from * to end.
Row 6: Purl all stitches.
Repeat Rows 1-6.
Diagonal Left stitch
Pattern: Multiple of 6 stitches
Row 1 - RS: Purl 1, *knit 5; rep from * to end.
Row 2 - WS: *Purl 4, knit 1, purl 1; rep from * to end.
Row 3: *Knit 2, purl 1, knit 3; rep from * to end.
